San Francisco: The Worst-Run City in the U.S.

Yesterday I warned of the possibility that Nancy Pelosi’s continued reign in Congress could result in the entire country becoming as dysfunctional as San Francisco. Few are aware of just how badly managed San Francisco is. Its political machine, from which Nancy Pelosi rose - is a case study in government run amok.

Check out this article from the San Francisco Weekly, a decidedly Left newspaper. Even liberals have had it.

The article’s lead-in highlights my oft-said remarks about “good intentions.” They are irrelevant at best -- and dreadfully destructive if used as a cover for lack of accountability, bad management and outright corruption.
When voters approve “feel-good” measures (caring for the elderly, rebuilding libraries, etc.) and the money for the projects disappears in the vast sinkhole of incompetence, waste and graft, citizens are robbed. Yet the elected and appointed officials wallow in self-righteousness. Or they just know a good scam when they see one. Shameful.
This level of idiocy has taken years to metastasize. If you want the U.S. to function like San Francisco, Nancy’s your girl! And she’s laying the foundation for equally destructive practices and policies in every bill that comes out of her Congress.

Unfortunately, it looks like it’s the worst-run city in the worst-run state…

We need to start shifting more programs to the private sector, and let the non-profits handle the “feel good stuff”. Leave only the basics for the government.
