Pelosi Brazenly Suggests Circumventing GOP on Health Care

Jan 28, 2010

Take a moment to read Nancy Pelosi's latest plan to pass health care. Even Harry Reid has distanced himself from such a brazen approach.

These People Represent Us

Jan 27, 2010

CBS News has continued investigating the Nancy Pelosi Copenhagen Climate junket, and they're finding some interesting information, for those of us that don't live off of your tax dollars.

This is a gem from the full article:

"Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., is a key climate change player. He went to Copenhagen last year. Last week, we asked him about the $2,200-a-day bill for room and food.

"'I can't believe that,' Rep. Waxman said. 'I can't believe it, but I don't know.'

"But his name is in black and white in the expense reports. The group expense report was filed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. She wouldn't talk about it when our producer tried to ask.

"Pelosi's office did offer an explanation for the high room charges. Those who stayed just two nights were charged a six-night minimum at the five-star Marriott. One staffer said, they strongly objected to no avail. You may ask how they'll negotiate a climate treaty, if they can't get a better deal on hotel rooms."

If Democrats want to be viewed as responsible - to any degree - dumping Nancy might be a good first step.

Stop Spending

Jan 25, 2010

President Obama has endorsed legislation creating a bipartisan commission to address mounting deficits.

Find out more

Nancy is against this, because Nancy is against common-sense legislation of all kinds. But even so, I have a simple answer - no commission is needed.

Stop spending so much.  If we need a commission to tell us that, we're in bad shape. But Nancy doesn't even want to hear that...

Politics, Not Policy

Jan 24, 2010

It’s always better to let people see the truths about your opponent using his or her own words or, as shown here, in the words of an ardent fan/supporter.  In the Sunday SF Chronicle’s “Willie’s World” column, Willie Brown shares his insights on Nancy Pelosi. (I’d post the link, but Willie’s World is “Exclusive to Print Edition.”)

In Willie’s words, “The business of substantive agenda is secondary to Pelosi’s main goal of raising money, increasing Democratic turnout and training candidates . . . what happens once they get there is secondary to her survival as speaker.”

Insiders know; Nancy doesn’t give a rip about anything but power and partisanship.  Politics, not policy and certainly not people, is Nancy’s driving force.  This is an ugly, inappropriate motivation in any leader, but truly “horrible” for the Speaker of the House and totally unacceptable in the person second in line to the presidency.

“Horrible” was the word CNN’s Jack Cafferty used to describe Nancy last week.

He was referring to her distasteful penchant to extravagance in a time of great hardship among so many Americans.

But it is even more horrible to have the Congress led by such a person.

BTW, Willie also says, “Pelosi is in better shape than almost any other leading Democrat.”  Maybe Dem lawmakers will wake up and realize that Nancy doesn’t care any more for them than she does the hard-working, tax-paying folks outside her narrow liberal partisan group.

“Dump Nancy” may be their best chance to hold on to their seats in 2010.

Healthcare Bill Struggling in House

Jan 23, 2010

A little ray of good news out of Washington. Nancy Pelosi is having difficulty pulling her fellow House members far enough left to pass the healthcare bill. We're certainly not out of the woods, but it could be a bit worse.

Horrible

Jan 22, 2010

I seldom agree with CNN but this is spot on!

In addition to being a "horrible woman" (Jack Caffety's words - with which I heartily agree) Nancy Pelosi is perhaps the ONLY Democrat who is SO out-of-touch and rabidly partisan (or just plain stupid) that she can't see the handwriting on the wall.
Nancy Pelosi insisted that - whatever the outcome - "the results today will in no way represent a repudiation of the Obama administration, especially on the matter of health care reform."

Read the article right here

Even after the results, which were overwhelming, not tight at all, she persists in her arrogance. Nancy is so obsessed with the power and perks of her leadership position she is incapable of comprehending the clear "Message of Massachusetts."  Obviously the only way to give the self-absorbed, self-indulgent Nancy the message of "STOP" and "ENOUGH" is to boot her out of office.

Pelosi Clueless on MA Race

Jan 21, 2010

Nancy Pelosi is clueless. She insisted that - whatever the outcome – “the results today will in no way represent a repudiation of the Obama administration, especially on the matter of health care reform,” quotes the San Francisco Chronicle

News Flash, Nancy. That was the message and it couldn't have been louder or clearer. The bill stinks. Everyone knows it. The gig is up.

It was also a repudiation of Nancy's reign as Speaker: the rank partisanship, the monstrous bills that are voted on unread, the back-room deals. Keeping those deals a secret while claiming unprecedented transparency. Extravagant junkets while the unemployment rate keeps rising. But it isn't just Nancy's outrages that have caused a backlash against Democrats. It's that she leads a Congress that is totally out of control - yet is intent to on controlling every aspect of its citizens lives. Health Care was just the beginning.

Another priceless Nancyism; Pelosi said Democrats will continue to pound "Main Street" issues, while Republicans will continue to represent the insurance companies, the wealthy and Wall Street.Let's see. On Health Care Reform legislation the Republicans have been totally shut out; it's the Dems who have cut deals with the insurance companies, who are exempting unions from health care taxes, who have (unbelievably) kept torte reform out of the bill (in order to cater to the wealthy trial lawyers who OWN the Democrat Party.)

Nancy labors under the illusion that citizens can't fight back. After all, she's held her seat for over 20 years with little or no opposition. (Very "Kennedy-esque.") She has little or no contact with her constituents. Two exceptions: major donors and those to whom she gives your money with great fanfare.

Massachusetts should be Nancy ‘s wake up call. But she labors under the illusion that citizens can't fight back – or, more accurately, TAKE BACK - their country. She seems oblivious to the mood of the country. Witness her "Astroturf" comments. The message has been delivered.

Elected officials have been warned: listen to constituents and stop your plans for a government takeover of the county or find yourselves in the unemployment line.
