The word hypocrisy just doesn’t seem appropriate. Too tame by a long shot. Besides, the word has lost its punch. The daily barrage of it has worn us down.
But the Copenhagen Junket takes the cake.
A little history. Who can forget Nancy Pelosi’s “jack in the box” performance during the 2009 State of the Union address? She seemed airborne, jumping and clapping as Obama berated auto executives for using private jets to get to the hearings in DC and pontificating that companies that got assistance from the government should fly commercial. Well and good. Austerity practices make sense in bankrupt companies.
They make sense for bankrupt countries, too.
But Nancy has never had such qualms about her own air travel. The internet is filled with information of her excesses and the unconscionable waste of tax dollars squandered by Queen Nancy as she jets to wherever she pleases.

I started to watch hearings on the absurd Waxman-Markey bill (Cap & Trade, here we come…) on C-Span today. At least Democrat Representative Markey used his opening remarks to admit that states that are working on developing options and programs for energy conservation appropriate for their states and regions complain that it is the federal government that undermines their progress. Once again, the federal government is the problem, not the solution.
As states work to develop new, innovative approaches that serve the needs of their citizens and communities and investigate regional solutions when appropriate, the Congress is furiously spewing out federal rules and regulations often at odds with viable, effective projects.

About Dana
Dana Walsh is an independent businesswoman who wants to serve her country. She has no desire to become a career politician like her opponent. The entrenched political elite in Washington, seeking their own power, have grossly mismanaged the nation’s affairs, and will continue to do so without action by responsible citizens.
Dana Walsh is standing up to take action at this critical turning point in our nation’s political and economic history. Rarely in our history has the country needed the strong voices and courage of its citizens to retake the reigns from those who misuse power. Standing up now is more important than ever before.
Dana’s campaign began simply - when she recognized that the excessive tax burden, complicated government bureaucracy, and intrusive government regulation made it impossible citizens to keep up with what was occurring in their country.
Dana decided that she would do something. She launched her campaign to help right the country’s policy culture away from its present collectivist course and back toward our Founder’s constitutional vision of truly limited government and considers the most important objective to be: stop Nancy and her liberal / socialist comrades from destroying the country’s prosperity.
In her 2008 campaign Dana set the tone and laid the ground work; in her 2010 campaign she intends to finish the job! Dana is uniquely qualified to serve as a “Citizen Statesman:”
A little background: Dana attended Santa Clara University for two years; then graduated from San Jose State University with a B.S. degree in Industrial Design.
She moved to SF in late 1978 and in 1980 bought the retail furnishings business she was managing, adding a design studio which was in operation until 1990. She served as the president of the Greater Clement St. Merchants Association and held positions in other small business organizations during these years.
She then established her design firm in the San Francisco Design Center, with both commercial and residential clients primarily in the SF Bay area but also with projects in Hawaii and Tokyo. She has served in multiple positions in design, business, civic and philanthropic organizations locally and has been Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for the San Francisco Juvenile Court and a tutor in the San Francisco Unified School System
Politically, she has been elected seven times to the San Francisco Republican Central Committee, has served the Party as a Vice Chair of Communications and has been a spokesperson for the Party on issues and candidates. She is a Past President of Nob Hill Republican Women Federated and is currently a member of the National Federation of Republican Women and the San Francisco Republican Assembly.

State Senator Sam Aanestad, Conservative Republican candidate for Lt. Governor
“As someone who has served in both the California Assembly and Senate, I can recognize leadership skills. Dana Walsh has impressed me. She is well spoken and has a clear understanding of the difficult issues facing both our state and country,” said Aanestad. “Republicans of the 8th district would be well served by nominating Dana Walsh.”
Donald Casper, Past Chair SFRP, SF City Commissioner
"I am proud to endorse Dana Walsh. She represents the very best San Francisco Republican values,"
Jim Hartman, Past Chair CA GOP
“Dana Walsh will aggressively challenge Nancy Pelosi on the issues. Dana’s background working in business and in the San Francisco community makes her the best Republican candidate in the field - by far.”
Kirk Miller, Past Chair SFRP
"Dana is an intelligent, insightful, hard working, and dedicated San Francisco Republican. She is by far the best candidate to carry our political banner."
Darcy Linn, President, N.CA Chapter CWLA (CA Women's Leadership Association)
“Dana Walsh embodies the qualities we want in a Congresswoman,” said Darcy. “She has the integrity to do what is best for the American people and the courage to fight for her ideals.”
Young Republican Federation of California
"Your dedication and leadership to our ideals has earned you our support and we look forward to working to your victory in 2010."
Barbara Kiley, Past VC and Officer and current member, SFRP
"Congress has many challenges that need to be resolved. We need the character and integrity of a person like Dana Walsh to tackle these challenges and ensure that America will remain a financially strong and independent country,"
Terrence Faulkner, Past Chair and current member SFRP & Alisa Farenzena, member, SFRP
"I endorse Dana Walsh because she is the only candidate in District 8 who understands the importance of winning the global war on terror," says Ms. Farenzena. "The other candidates cannot seem to grasp the significance of having all intelligence-gathering tactics available to us and the need to differentiate terrorists from common criminals."
David Kiachko, member, SFRP
"I especially appreciate that Dana is the only individual in the race who fully understands the terror threat to the United States and the importance of defending the Patriot Act. She is also the only Republican in the race who, while looking forward to the day our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan can be brought home safely, agrees with John McCain and General McChrystal that a cut and run policy, in both Iraq and Afghanistan, will jeopardize the safety of both our troops and the United States. Dana will work hard to protect our economy and our safety."
Janet Campbell, member, SFRP
"Like many of Dana's supporters, I am a strong proponent of fiscal integrity at all levels of government. Dana has also earned my support for her position in upholding the Constitution and recalling a repeal of the Health Care Bill. Her stances are clear and unwavering,"
Albert Chang, Chairman, Shandong Assoc, Co Chair, Chinese Alliance, Past member, SFRP
"Dana Walsh is the best candidate to take on Pelosi," said Chang. "Not only does her campaign have the necessary fundraising momentum, but Dana also has the strongest stands on the most pressing issues confronting our country."
Mike Gleim, past delegate CA GOP
Sue Woods, Past VC and Officer and current member, SFRP
Harold Hoogasian, Past Member, SFRP and Republican leader
Amanda Morello, Developer of the GOP Trumpeter
George Andrews, Former Executive Director, Orange County Republican Party
