Last Friday, Nancy Pelosi told the media that Democrats would pass major health care legislation this year; something she promised in 2009 as well. Then she described how the bill is a principal means by which the Democratic Leadership in Washington plans to get the economy back on track.
Within the proposed health care legislation, there is a stimulus measure allowing the federal government to invest billions of taxpayers’ dollars in medical research. Pelosi told New York Times writer David M. Herszenhorn that your money will be used “for investments in basic biomedical research, research with the power to cure, research paid for by the taxpayer, the benefits of which should be available to every person in America.”
Taking money out of your pockets and putting it in the hands of medical researchers—that is how Nancy Pelosi plans to create jobs in San Francisco.
According to the PhRMA, Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, U.S. drug companies spent $39.4 billion on research and development in 2005, alone.
Don’t let Nancy Pelosi take another one of your dollars and put it in the hands of major corporations! Not only does excessive government spending hurt your monthly checkbooks but it also hurt our nation’s future economic health and long-term prosperity.
As a successful entrepreneur, Dana knows that investing in small businesses will create jobs and lead the American economic recovery. She knows what it is like to balance a budget and make tough decisions when it comes to cutting costs. Dana will provide the kind leadership that benefits small businesses and boosts the bottom line.
With Pelosi in charge, San Franciscans & all Americans will continue to experience excessive tax burdens and out of control government spending. The kind of leadership that will ruin healthcare reform and is just downright bad business.

People across the city of San Francisco and all across the country are gathering together to enjoy Super Bowl XLIV tonight. Even if you don't consider yourself a football fan, everyone is a fan of some part of the Superbowl... You might be a fan of the extra time with your friends and family, a quarterback duel for the ages, the half-time performances, or maybe you are a bigger fan of the commercials than the actual game! Regardless, on Super Bowl Sunday, everyone is a fan.
No one who knows Nancy Pelosi harbors any illusion that she is even capable of bipartisan leadership, much less committed to it. The total lack of transparency in developing the Health Care Reform bill shows she has no intention of hearing from anyone who doesn’t agree with her leftist agenda.
When even the Associated Press writes, “Republicans weren’t invited” to the deliberations, what are the chances the general public would get to see the wheeling and dealing? And the list of those who were invited….well, that’s none of our business, apparently.
The head of C-Span noted that since the earlier negotiations were closed, perhaps “letting the sun shine in on the “critical stage of reconciliation between the chambers” would be appropriate. Don’t hold your breath.
The image of the speaker of the House literally giggling when reminded of Obama’s campaign promise to air the health care reform hearings was disturbing. She added “There were a number of things he swore on the campaign trail…” to chuckles from her colleagues, including tax cheat Charlie Rangel. Viewers are left with the distinct impression that Nancy and her comrades consider campaign promises a joke.
But apparently the joke is on us. Her remark that “tens of thousands of people participated in our town meetings.” on the health care bill is surreal. It is clear she TOTALLY ignored the town halls – and their message: “Kill the Bill.”
A side note: Closing Republicans out of the health care debate was petty and irresponsible. To misrepresent them saying that they had no ideas was an outright lie. The Republicans proposed 37 bills each of which addressed specific health reform issues separately – instead of the convoluted labyrinth of the Democrat Bill.
Nancy Pelosi has gone beyond double-speak when she characterizes her handling of the health care bill debacle as “open” or “transparent.” Her heavy-handed handling of the health care bill was so egregious that she had no credibility as a leader.
Question: Which phrase is more ludicrous when it comes from the speaker’s mouth; “transparent government” or “the most ethical congress in history.”
High number of small dollar donors, contributions from all 50 states
SAN FRANCISCO, CA - The Dana Walsh for Congress Campaign is seeking to unseat Nancy Pelosi in the 8th CD; a goal that is becoming even more tangible due to the overwhelming growth of grassroots support. Dana has received financial contributions from every state in the country, totaling just under $400,000.
Her campaign has raised 7 times more money than her Republican primary opponent, solidifying her place as the true Republican candidate and formidable opponent to Nancy Pelosi. Even more impressive is the fact that over 90% of her contributions were less than $200, further displaying the actual grassroots support behind Dana. Over 13,000 everyday Americans have donated to her campaign as they believe she is the candidate to unseat Nancy Pelosi. This number is growing by the hour as more people learn about her campaign and see her as a means of taking our country back.
Her campaign invites you to join in celebrating "Retire Nancy Pelosi Week." Visit www.DanaWalshforCongress.com, to learn more, sign the transparency petition, read Dana's blogs, view her videos and see what's new in this exciting campaign and historical race.

Washington Examiner - Oct. 6, 2009 - Americans are angry that Congress votes on bills without reading them, and that it refuses to publish bills online well in advance of Congress' vote. Congress resists this common-sense transparency to avoid answering to the public. When will they get that they're accountable to the public?
San Francisco Examiner - Oct. 7, 2009 - Congressional leadership engages in deceptive, secret manuevers to ensure that few understand what is actually in the health care bill. They intend to continue obscuring their process.
Pelosi is very comfortable with the power she has and doesn't really care that she is widely mistrusted or that the public by wide margins do not want the overbearing, back-room drafted legislation she is muscling through Congress.

We need the resources to spread our message across the Bay Area that it's time for Nancy Pelosi to retire, and time for the American people to take back our Congressional seat.
Dana Walsh is an independent businesswoman who wants to serve her country. The entrenched political elite in Washington, seeking their own power, have grossly mismanaged the nation’s affairs, and will continue to do so without action by responsible citizens. Dana Walsh is standing up to take action at this critical turning point in our nation’s political and economic history.
Dana is a citizen willing to retake the reigns from those who misuse power. Dana understands the significant issues of the day. The excessive tax burden, complicated government bureaucracy, and intrusive government regulation must be stopped. Why don’t most people see that we are heading toward socialism?” Dana believes that today’s state of political and constitutional affairs is not what the founding fathers had in mind. Members of Congress were supposed to serve their country as a “Citizen Statesmen,” and return shortly to private life. They were supposed to serve the interests of the citizens, not the interests of the government.
Unlike many great leaders before them, most of today’s Congress (especially Nancy Pelosi) put their own careers and interests, and the growth of government, ahead of the country’s best interests. This must stop! Dana launched her campaign to help right the country’s policy culture away from its present collectivist course and back toward our Founder’s constitutional vision of truly limited government. Like the Founders intended, Dana has no interest in staying in Congress forever or making a career out of it.
Dana considers the most important objective to be: stop Nancy and her liberal / socialist comrades from destroying the country’s prosperity.
So please browse around the site, leave comments on the blog, and check back often as we keep you updated on how we plan to Retire Nancy Pelosi this November.
