Mike DeNunzio, a California Commissioner on Aging, has written a concise review of many of the flaws in the Health Care Reform bill that Congress is trying to ram through. Although it primarily addresses the concerns of seniors, it also points out the shortcomings of socialized medicine in general and emphasizes the strengths of the U.S. system, especially in regard to our leadership in medical innovation.

Why can’t the mainstream media “connect the dots” the way they are connected here? There is consensus that Health Care reform is necessary. I believe it must be done incrementally; fixing ONLY what needs fixing. And making sure that the measures taken to fix the problems actually work before dismantling what currently exists. That is the thinking behind the Republican bills that have been proposed.
Let’s tell the Senate to “Kill the Bill” that is before it now; it is complicated, confusing and bloated with bureaucracy. Start over. And this time, tell Nancy Pelosi to listen to Republicans, because they will propose measures that build on our current system while working on solutions to the specific problems we face.
