The Wall Street Journal highlighted how large the anti-Pelosi sentiment is in this country when they published their blog today. According to the blog, Dana has received $1.44 million in contributions to defeat Nancy Pelosi. Here is an excerpt from the article:
The biggest recipient of anti-Pelosi contributions is local interior designer and Republican Party operative Dana Walsh, who is now running neck and neck with Pelosi on the cash front. Walsh has hauled in $1.44 million from individual contributors, the fourth-highest tally of any House challenger in the country so far this cycle, according to Federal Elections Commission numbers.
That is huge! Thank you everyone for donating to my campaign! With these kind of results Nancy Pelosi's exit from Congress is imminent.

Young Republican Federation of California Endorses Walsh
San Francisco, CA - Today Dana Walsh, Republican candidate for Congress in California's 8th District, proudly announced that she has received another major endorsement.
The Young Republican Federation of California has unanimously endorsed her candidacy for Congress to unseat Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.
In a letter to Walsh, Adam Abrahms writes, "Your dedication and leadership to our ideals has earned you our support and we look forward to working to your victory in 2010."
Walsh commented, "As we saw during the 2008 elections, the next generation vote is extremely important. They are our future leaders and I am proud to have received the support of the Young Republican Federation of California. This endorsement shows that California's young leaders believe that I am the best candidate to represent their positions on the key issues in this high profile race against Speaker Pelosi."
"During Speaker Pelosi's tenure, Washington has run amok. Congress continues its assault on our individual liberties and personal freedoms. Its recklessly spending is mortgaging our children's future. That's why this campaign is so important to young Republicans," added Walsh.

San Francisco, CA - Today Dana Walsh, Republican candidate for Congress in California’s 8th District, announced that her primary opponent, John Dennis, was finally exposed for sharing many of the same views as Speaker Nancy Pelosi during last night’s debate.
Walsh was the clear winner in the one hour exchange. When Dennis was not defending his positions, he was changing them in an attempt to win over the crowd du jour.
Walsh’s opponent failed to rationally explain many of his outrageous positions such as wanting to close Gitmo, believing that military bases on foreign land are unconstitutional and why he failed to vote in so many elections. “It is no wonder why he could not get elected to the San Francisco Republican Central Committee,” said Walsh. “As someone who has been elected 7 times to the Committee and been the Republican nominee for our party, I find his positions more in line with Speaker Pelosi. And I guess many other San Francisco Republican voters feel the same way.”
Worse yet, Dennis attempted to fool attendees about his position on Israel by flip flopping. “We never know which John Dennis is going to show up. Last night he was pro-Israel. However, just a month ago his position reflected President Obama’s opinion,” said Walsh. “You can’t trust the guy. He is just another typical politician who will say anything to get elected. This is more of the same and exactly what the American people are sick and tired of.”
Walsh won over the audience with her consistent position on lowering the tax burden, fighting to reduce spending, repealing Obamacare, and strengthening our national security, making her the preferred standard bearer of the San Francisco Republican Party.

Last month, Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) wrote an article about Dana being the first candidate to sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge in California's 8th congressional district. The Pledge asks signers to commit to "oppose any and all efforts to increase the marginal income tax rates for individuals and/or businesses ... and oppose any net reduction or elimination of deductions and credits, unless matched dollar for dollar by further reducing tax rates."
ATR has been offering this pledge to all elected officials and those running for office since 1987. Noticeably absent from the list of signatures is Nancy Pelosi. Click here to read the article.

Dana Walsh will be debating her primary Republican opponent, tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity for voters to compare the two candidates and see where they stand on the issues most important to San Franciscans and which candidate can truly fire Nancy Pelosi in the general election.
The San Francisco 8th Congressional District Republican Primary Debate
Date:Tuesday, April 20, 2010 Time: 6:30 PM Where: Hiram Johnson Building Address: 455 Golden Gate Ave.
San Francisco, CA
Dana and her opponent have similar positions on many of the issues, but they hold very different points of view on specific issues that are important to conservatives, issues such as national security, defense spending, and military tribunals. Dana continues to gain momentum due to support from top conservatives, exceptional fundraising dollars, and being the first candidate to pledge no more taxes and to end earmark spending.
Please come out tomorrow night to support Dana's campaign where she will confirm that she is the only true conservative to represent California's 8th congressional district.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Dana Walsh, Republican candidate for Congress in California's 8th Congressional District, proudly announced that she has received the endorsement of third term San Francisco Republican Committee member, Janet Campbell.
"Like many of Dana's supporters, I am a strong proponent of fiscal integrity at all levels of government. Dana has also earned my support for her position in upholding the Constitution and recalling a repeal of the Health Care Bill. Her stances are clear and unwavering," said Campbell.
Janet Campbell is a member of the San Francisco Republican Party County Central Committee, in San Francisco's Assembly District 12, and the former Vice-Chair of Events. In addition to her professional work, she helps and with helping governmental agencies and private companies to be able to compete for public works contracts in order to curb waste, fraud and abuse in public works contracts. Previously, she has served as a Board Member for the American Institute of Architects in the state of Georgia. She has also spoken for the Geary Street Merchant's Association on a number of occasions when dealing with the parking changes affecting retail that are planned along that Boulevard.
Last week, Walsh announced that not only had she won the endorsement of Commissioner Donald Casper and past Chairman of the San Francisco Republican Party Kirk Miller, but she also has raised over $1 million in her effort to defeat Speaker Pelosi.
On another campaign matter, Walsh is showing that she is the true leader in this race. Her Republican Primary opponent has been forced to follow her lead on one of the most important issues in this race. In response to Walsh, he has signed the Americans for Tax Reform "No New Taxes" pledge. Now Walsh is waiting to see if he will once again follow her lead by signing Citizens Against Government Waste's "No Pork Pledge." The pledge specifies that Walsh will not request any pork barrel earmarks that meet the following criteria - requested by only one chamber of Congress, not specifically authorized, not competitively awarded, not requested by the President, greatly exceeds the President's budget request or the previous year's funding, not the subject of Congressional hearings, or serves only a local or special interest.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -Today Dana Walsh, Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in California’s Eighth District, announced that she has signed Citizens Against Government Waste’s “No Pork Pledge.” Walsh is the only candidate, Republican or Democrat, to sign the pledge.
“The federal government does not have a revenue problem. We have a spending problem,” said Walsh. “In order to restore the people’s faith in our government, we need to stop the political practice of bringing back pork to the district for electoral gain. It is time to finally end the pork barrel earmarks. No more lip service. No more window dressing reforms.”
The pledge specifies that Walsh will not request any pork barrel earmarks that meet the following criteria - requested by only one chamber of Congress, not specifically authorized, not competitively awarded, not requested by the President, greatly exceeds the President’s budget request or the previous year’s funding, not the subject of Congressional hearings, or serves only a local or special interest.
Citizens Against Government Waste has documented during the past 20 years over 100,000 earmark projects that have cost the taxpayers $290 billion.
“I am running to offer the people of San Francisco a choice. Unlike the incumbent, I will not be a defender of the status quo in Washington. You can count on me to make wise choices and hard decisions that will clean up the system which voters have come to despise,” said Walsh. “Polling numbers show the opinion of Congress is at an all time low. That’s due to Speaker Pelosi’s leadership especially when it comes to earmarks. Just look at the $787 billion stimulus bill passed last year. It has not worked and Congress spent billions on wasteful projects.”
