Kirk Miller Endorses Dana Walsh for U.S. Congress

Apr 08, 2010

Today Dana Walsh, Republican candidate for Congress in California’s 8th Congressional District, proudly announced that she has received another important endorsement for the Republican Primary.  This week Kirk Miller, who has served the Republican Party in multiple positions, including as Chairman of the San Francisco Republican Party and Vice Chair of the California Republican State Party County Chairs’ Committee, has declared his support for Walsh.  He has also served as Vice President of SPUR (San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association) and as a San Francisco Housing Commissioner.  He was also a Founder of the Russian Hill Home Owners Association.

“I am pleased so many people are joining my effort. Kirk Miller is a distinguished leader in both the Republican Party and in San Francisco.  I am honored by his endorsement,” stated Walsh.

"Dana is an intelligent, insightful, hard working, and dedicated San Francisco Republican. She is by far the best candidate to carry our political banner."

On another campaign matter, Walsh signed the Americans for Tax Reform “No New Taxes” pledge. So far she is the only candidate making the pledge in this race for Congress.  As a small business owner, Walsh believes the best way to revive the economy is to lower the tax burden on business and individuals.

Dana Walsh Pledges to Lower Tax Burden

Apr 07, 2010

U.S. Congressional Candidate Dana Walsh Signs No New Taxes Pledge

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Dana Walsh, Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in California's Eighth District, has signed the Americans for Tax Reform's Taxpayer Protection Pledge. Walsh is the only candidate Republican or Democrat to sign the pledge.

"As our next Congresswoman, I will work to lower the tax burden. People should be able to keep more of their paychecks," said Walsh.

Walsh believes that tax cuts will help stimulate new growth. As a businesswoman, she understands that new growth in the economy will create new jobs and spur opportunity for millions of Americans.

"I am determined to fight against all tax increases. The federal government does not have a revenue problem. They have a spending problem," stated Walsh. "As we get ready to pay our taxes, I think it is important to inform voters where we stand on the issue of taxes."

Taxes are a major differentiating point between Walsh and her two opponents -- John Dennis and Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Dennis has failed to sign the pledge and over the years Pelosi has developed a poor record of standing up for the taxpayers. She has earned for following ratings:

"Pelosi has a clear pattern of voting against the interests of the taxpayers. She has failed for years to fight for the working men and women of our district and the people of the United States," said Walsh.  "She is part of the problem not the solution."

Walsh went on to further state that Republicans must nominate a strong candidate who has a business background and the determination to implement sound economic policies that will put people back to work. "As the only candidate to have signed the pledge, I offer a candidacy that is a clear alternative to the Pelosi tax and tax agenda," said Walsh.

Walsh Raises $1 Million in Campaign Against Pelosi

Apr 05, 2010

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Today Dana Walsh, Republican candidate for Congress in California's 8th Congressional District, announced that her campaign has hit a huge milestone by surpassing the $1 million mark for the first quarter Federal Election Commission report.

"Our fundraising shows that there is a lot of support for my candidacy.  I am pleased so many people are joining the effort," said Walsh.  "People want real change and a Congresswoman focused on the economy.  They know that I am the candidate with the best chances of defeating Speaker Pelosi."

Walsh through her efforts in direct mail, personal solicitation, events, and the internet has out raised her Republican Primary opponent 4 to 1.  Not only does this successful Walsh fundraising show that her opponent is too far behind to be able to mount a competitive race, but it also indicates that his weak positions on national security are hurting him.  Walsh's opponent supports closing Gitmo and opposes military tribunals for terrorists which mirror's Speaker Nancy Pelosi's beliefs.  Hence, donors are not responding to him.

"As a small business owner, I am no stranger to hard work and that's what we have done to be competitive with Speaker Pelosi. Clearly we have both the momentum and the funds to take on the incumbent who has lost touch with San Francisco," stated Walsh.

Over 25,000 people have contributed to the campaign so far. In addition, over 91% of the contributors made donations of less than $200.

Walsh plans to continue to aggressively fundraise in order to compete with Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the special interest groups who will pump millions of dollars into this race. "They need her in DC, because she knows how to deliver for her allies rather than the voting public," said Walsh. "As we saw two weeks ago, the Speaker forced through health care instead of focusing on jobs."

Help Us Reach Our Goal by the Filing Deadline

Mar 30, 2010

We are 48 hours away from the first quarter federal filing deadline. The health care bill has passed, and Nancy Pelosi's arrogance and disregard for the people continues in Washington. I want to retire Nancy Pelosi and take our country back, but I need your help to do it. Please help us meet our goal of raising $10,000 by the end of the filing period, so we have the resources to stand-up to Nancy Pelosi's support from liberal special interest funding.

Will you help make sure we reach our goal and retire Nancy Pelosi by making a $100, $50, or even $20 contribution?

We must do something NOW. Pelosi-care will bankrupt Medicare, and it does not guarantee better health care for anyone. A broken health care system just got worse. A donation to my campaign supports one more vote to repeal the bill and retire Nancy Pelosi!

Please give us the resources we need to defeat Nancy Pelosi in November; every donation really does make a difference.

My Statement On The Passage Of The Health Care Bill

Mar 22, 2010

Any hope of limited government has died if this Health Care Reform bill is not repealed. Forget that the public has seen the legislative process at its ugliest. Forget that we’ve seen the lengths to which the details of this bill have been misrepresented, forget the spin, forget the deceptions..

Congress has been distracting us with the details – which change on a daily, if not hourly, basis. Americans demanded transparency and instead got a sideshow. No one understands what is in this bill or what it will cost or, most disturbing, what effect it will have on our health care, our economy or our freedoms.

The real issue is that Congress has no Constitutional authority to control health care of its constituents. And they are now poised to seize power over our energy use (with Cap and Trade), our freedom to listen to the voices we want to hear (with the Fairness Doctrine) and the political system itself as it allows the White House to control the Census (which has never been done before in the history of the country.)

The Congress has no authority to expand its power by denying Americans the freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution. This must stop. The first step in taking back the country is to challenge the legitimacy of this bill. Let us start today.
