Nancy Pelosi’s Ethics: Not as Advertised…

Ironic, is it not, that Speaker Nancy who pledged to “lead the most honest, most open, and most ethical Congress in history” just happens to find herself on Judicial Watch’s “10 Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians” List.  Yes, Nancy made the list along with her favorite – and favored – cronies.
In case anyone missed Nancy’s deceptive and counterproductive attack on the Bush Administration in September of 2008 before the vote on the bailout, listen to it now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxMInSfanqg
In this speech, Nancy praises the “extraordinary leadership” of Barney Frank, either unaware of (which with Nancy is totally understandable) or lacking knowledge of (ditto) the role Barney had in creating the conditions for the 2008 financial meltdown which had as its catalyst the cesspool of toxic loans that would have never existed were it not for the malfeasance of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (i.e. Congress demanding that standard lending procedures be abandoned in the pursuit of homes for everyone, even those who couldn’t afford them.)
Barney’s right at the top of the list.  Judicial Watch calls him out for serious financial corruption, which they clearly describe.  But just for fun, google the man for his ethical lapses.  It would be funny were he not a US Congressman.  Among the google “suggestions” are scandal, pot, bust and prostitute scandal.  THIS is Nancy’s Number 1 guy.  A model for us all.
All but one on the list are Democrats.  John Murtha and Charlie Rangel fill out the top ten.  Murtha, Nancy’s choice for majority leader when she became speaker, was a choice the rank and file Dems couldn’t abide.  Nancy’s statement that “(His) presence in the leadership of our party would add a knowledgeable and respected voice to our Democratic team," shows her total lack of judgment.
Maybe Nancy will show interest in “draining the swamp” (as she so dramatically put it when she took the reigns of the House) in the new year but … what are the chances?  I won’t hold my breath.

Wow - thanks for showing this to us. Unfortunately this willingness to brush off ethics happens on both sides of the aisle - but it seems to me that the Democrats are taking it to a new level.

I remember that speech. It made me furious - some of the worst leadership I have ever seen.
